As a person with cognitive issues of various types (illness, brainstem injury, ADHD, etc.) I have fought many, many battles for the integrity of my mind. Since the war is already won by Jesus, however, last night I got fed up and wrote this proclamation.
Most of these words are from scripture. Since “every knee will bow…and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ (the Word) is Lord,” (Phil. 2:10-11) that means that even my less than cooperative mind and brain must get in line when I speak this out in faith. That’s what you get for making me mad, self!
Anyways, I got the Holy Spirit nudge (you know what I’m talking about) that I should post this. I guess I’m not the only one who struggles this way. So with that, I bless you Child of God, may you receive full clarity of a mind as you wholly fix yourself on Jesus Christ. His promise of abundant life includes our minds, so let that be your confidence as you speak.
Proclamation:
Healing and restoration
I am not conformed to this world, but I am transformed by the renewing of my mind! My mind and brain are cleansed by His Blood, healed by His stripes, filled and sealed by His Spirit with power, Love, and a sound mind. Jesus my Shepherd anoints my head with oil and restores my soul into wholeness.
Thought Life
I cast down imaginations and every high thing that opposes you, God, every thought is now held captive to Christ. I trust in You with a whole heart and so I lean on You, not my own understanding. I rest in knowing that because I acknowledge You in all my ways, You will make my path straight. I have died to selfishness and will not submit again to the yoke of the slavery of sin.
Attention
I set my mind on the Spirit and so I have the life and peace of God filling and surrounding my mind and my entire being. My thoughts are still, knowing that You are God. My eyes, my heart, and my attention are fixed on Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of my faith. All my thoughts, words, and ways are done in love because Jesus is my Way, my Truth, and my Life.
Protection
I utterly reject all fear that tries to get me to doubt the Word of God; the Truth has set me free from all lies, shame, and anxiety so I am free indeed! I embrace faith and trust in God’s eternal goodness and lovingkindness. The Lord keeps me from all harm; I am hidden in God with Christ, and His peace guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Gratitude
I praise You, Yahweh, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My mind and brain were made in Your image and they are very good. I know that You will do abundantly above all I can ask, think, or imagine, and I thank You for Your faithfulness. You are trustworthy and all Your words are all true!
Amen
I seal this proclamation in the Blood of Jesus! It’s written in Heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal, for Jesus is my guarantor! All of God’s promises are “yes” and “amen” so I believe and know that I have received all of this in Jesus’s Mighty and all-sufficient Name, Amen.
