Kara in Writing

I asked Yahweh, “who are You? The Father, the Son? People say so many different things.” I drew some Borromean rings (see below) since that’s a shape that God has used to illustrate the Trinity to me before and asked Him, “where are You in this?”

His answer to me was that He– Yahweh– is everything within the dark Blue outline. He is the Father, He is the Son, He is the Holy Spirit. He is One and He is Three.

I started digging into scripture to learn more about Yahweh and once you read a version of the Bible that uses YHWH or some form of The Name instead of “Lord” in the Old Testament, the various aspects of the divine nature begin to stand out more clearly. It’s all over the Psalms, for example. I’ve provided a sampling of verses for your perusal below.

Why does this matter?

Simply put, God yearns– deeply– to be known by His children. He wants to reveal Himself! Please don’t take my word for it, though: ask Him yourself and let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth as you pursue Him in His presence and His word.

Verses + Additional Resources:

Here’s a small sampling of verses: New-Testament verses are from the New King James Version, Old-Testament verses are from the Literal Standard Version. I’ve cross-linked OT and NT verses by grouping them together:

Yahweh as the Son (word, right hand/arm)
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Ps 33:6 By the word of YHWH The heavens have been made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

Eph 1:20 …which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
Ps 118:16 The right hand of YHWH is exalted, the right hand of YHWH is doing valiantly.

Yahweh as the Holy Spirit (breath, fire)
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Ps 33:6 By the word of YHWH the heavens have been made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

Acts 2:3-4 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
Deut. 4:24 for your God YHWH is a consuming fire—a zealous God.

Yahweh as the Father (times and seasons, lights)
Acts 1:7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”
Psalm 31:14-15 And I have trusted on You, O YHWH, I have said, “You [are] my God.” In Your hand [are] my times…
Psalm 104:19 He made the moon for seasons…

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Ps. 27:1 BY DAVID. YHWH [is] my light and my salvation, whom do I fear? YHWH [is] the strength of my life, of whom am I afraid?
