In Gratitude: a Song

A volume of my life story has finished its course. In fact, you might consider this a sort of dedication page: as of today, I have officially resigned from my job for health reasons after 26 years working in the technology sector. From here on out, God is the one directing my work and my provision. In others words, gear up buttercup, we’re going on an adventure, and I know it’s going to be good!

So, I asked God what sort of offering I could give Him in gratitude for getting me through 12 years of chronic illness at work. For picking me up and carrying me so many times when I’d hit the end of my strength. For sending kind bosses and coworkers to support me when I was struggling. For making a way time and time again where there was absolutely no way. That I’ve made it this far is no small miracle, and God’s hand was moving through all of it.

Jesus reminded me of another time that I felt grateful and wrote Him a song. He asked me to share it here in a kind of public declaration of thankfulness.

I Found You

Oh Faith is a mountain,
we all have to climb
To lay it on down
In the fullness of time

Oh hope is a river
It carries me
From the depths of the earth
To the arms of the Sea

Oh I found You,
Wonderful You
When I stopped looking
Oh I found You, beautiful You
When I closed my eyes
And saw with the eyes of faith.

Oh Love is a garden
It grows in time
As you walk with me here
Through Your patient design

Oh Grace is an ocean
It beckons me
Come drown all your troubles
Darling, just be

Oh I found You,
Wonderful You
When I stopped looking
Oh I found You, beautiful You
When I closed my eyes
And saw with a heart of Love

I looked with my soul
And there You were
Waiting for me all this time
To seek and believe
To be still and know
Oh I’ve found You, darling forever
Oh I’ve found You, oh now You’re mine
Oh I’ve found You, and no one can take me away
I am Yours through the end of time

The link is below; please be merciful as it’s just one woman singing her heart out as recorded on a phone, no instruments, no editing, no production value. I never intended to release it, but you know how God is…

I Found You
